SCISMA 2026 in Dongguan –
Focus on Automation and
Cutting Technology

SCISMA 2026 took place in Dongguan, southern China, at the Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center and once again demonstrated how significantly the textile manufacturing industry is currently changing. The trade fair is regarded as an important industry meeting point for cutting technology, sewing technology and automated production solutions in the Asian market.

ProCom Automation attended as a visitor to observe current developments in CNC control systems, digital cutting processes and automation solutions, as well as to maintain existing contacts.

Large Trade Fair with a Clear Technical Focus

It was already apparent in the first halls that SCISMA is strongly geared towards real production processes. Many manufacturers did not present individual machines, but complete workflows – from material feeding through to the finished cut.

Particularly prominent were:

  • automatic cutting systems

  • digital lay-up solutions

  • CAD/CAM integrations

  • material handling

  • production automation

Many machines were running live under production conditions, which meant that discussions quickly became highly technical and practice-oriented.

Well-Known Manufacturers and Running Cutting Systems

Numerous well-known companies from the textile manufacturing and cutting technology sectors were represented at the trade fair. These included, among others:

  • JACK
  • iECHO
  • JWEI
  • Kawakami
  • SG Group mit Dürkopp Adler und PFAFF Industrial
  • Richpeace

The high number of large-format CNC cutting systems for textile materials, technical textiles and foams was particularly noticeable. Many manufacturers presented solutions with automatic material recognition, camera systems and integrated production data.

Several demonstrations clearly showed that topics such as process stability, material savings and ease of operation are now becoming more important than speed alone.

Focus on Networked Production

Another major topic was the integration of digital processes into manufacturing. Many manufacturers showcased solutions in which cutting systems are connected directly to production or ERP systems.

Especially in larger production lines, it became clear how important stable data flows and flexible control solutions have become. This area is currently developing very dynamically, particularly in the Asian market.

Dongguan as an Important Industrial Location

The industrial importance of the region was also clearly noticeable outside the trade fair. Dongguan is one of the most important production locations in southern China and is closely connected to the international textile and manufacturing industries.

Overall, this created a very production-oriented atmosphere, with many technical discussions and concrete application cases rather than purely product-focused presentations.

Conclusion on SCISMA 2026

SCISMA 2026 showed that automated cutting processes and digital production structures are continuing to develop strongly. The trend towards integrated solutions, stable process chains and intelligent control systems was particularly evident.

For ProCom Automation, the visit was especially valuable for gaining a better international perspective on current market movements and technical developments. The trade fair offered many practice-oriented impressions and a good overview of the current requirements in textile manufacturing.
