  • Conclusion: What do these customer projects show

Tactical Solutions (UAB Taktiniai Sprendimai)

Tactical Solutions (UAB Taktiniai Sprendimai) is a growing manufacturing company with a European footprint. The company supplies numerous markets across Europe and is continuously expanding its production capacities. The focus is on optimising production processes – with a growing need for scalable digitalisation solutions.

How did the collaboration begin?

The initial contact took place in 2024 at the Texprocess trade fair in Frankfurt. The live demo showcasing efficiency improvements in the production process using our IIoT platform Clouver particularly impressed the team from Tactical Solutions (UAB Taktiniai Sprendimai) – and immediately led to intensive discussions.

What were the specific requirements?

Tactical Solutions (UAB Taktiniai Sprendimai) wanted to have an overview of its production processes at any time and from any location – on any internet-enabled device. The aim was the precise analysis of individual work steps using Clouver in order to optimise the utilisation of machine lines.

For effective production management, it was important to keep track of average operation times, the number of processed parts, work order progress, backlogs, reasons for downtimes and downtime duration, as well as similar KPIs.

What is the current status of the implementation?

The project is progressing as planned with measurable results. Hardware and software were customised to the requirements in close collaboration – including integration into an existing ERP system. Ongoing communication continuously generated new ideas throughout the development, which were implemented directly.

Additionally, ProCom Automation gained valuable insights into the specific needs of the sewing industry – especially regarding the collection, processing and presentation of decision-relevant production data. Clouver now provides detailed real-time information on production performance, such as order progress, line utilisation and idle times, and clearly highlights bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

What are the plans for future collaboration?

Tactical Solutions (UAB Taktiniai Sprendimai) is undergoing dynamic growth, with increasing production capacities and new machine types that are to be successively integrated into the existing infrastructure. Planning for the next expansion stages is already underway, in which additional machines will be integrated into the Clouver system and further functionalities activated. The goal is to strengthen team motivation through clear targets and visible progress in day-to-day operations.

IP Verpackungen GmbH

IP Verpackungen GmbH is the leading manufacturer of to-go packaging in Europe. This medium-sized company produces innovative packaging solutions with a modern production infrastructure. The company increasingly relies on digital solutions for production and energy efficiency – especially with regard to sustainability and economic viability.

How did the collaboration begin?

The contact came about through a former colleague. The decisive factors were IP Verpackungen’s dissatisfaction with its previous energy monitoring solution and the desire for a reliable and approachable partner who can respond quickly and flexibly to requirements.

What were the specific requirements?

A reliable solution for energy monitoring was sought – with precise consumption data per machine. We were able to fulfil these requirements, with several elements developed and refined together with the customer to create a tailored solution.

In the end, it was Clouver’s holistic concept that convinced the customer – because Clouver offers far more than just energy monitoring. The combination of extensive analysis functions and seamless ERP integration proved to be a decisive advantage that set us apart from other providers.

What is the current status of the implementation?

Several machines have already been connected via meters. The system is currently used primarily for energy monitoring

A key objective at IP Verpackungen was not just to record energy consumption in production, but to present it in a transparent and machine-specific way. To achieve this, the company uses the Sankey diagram in Clouver.

This visual tool allows energy flows to be intuitively mapped – from the overall energy consumption down to each individual machine. The stronger the energy flow, the thicker the path shown. This makes it immediately clear which systems have the highest electricity demand. Especially in an energy-intensive production environment like at IP Verpackungen – where raw styrofoam is processed in several stages into to-go packaging – this brings clear advantages.

Clouver collects consumption data from all machines via central meters and displays it clearly in the Sankey diagram. Machines can be logically grouped, colour-coded and assigned to specific cost centres. Overhead costs – such as those from extraction systems – can also be proportionally allocated to individual machines.

The concrete benefits:

  • Consumption comparisons on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis

  • Machine-related analyses by area

  • Allocation of consumption to cost centres

  • Quick identification of savings and optimisation potential

  • Distribution of overhead costs proportionally across machines

An additional added value currently lies in our proximity to the customer. Regular on-site visits and fast response times make the difference – exactly what IP Verpackungen GmbH considered crucial for the collaboration.

What are the plans for future collaboration?

The aim is to gradually expand the use of Clouver in other areas of production and to implement additional functionalities beyond energy monitoring – such as downtime analysis and touch panel integration. ERP connection and the continuous expansion of the Clouver modules in use are planned and already in preparation. The collaboration is designed to systematically expand the range of functions and fully unlock the platform’s potential. The customer sees Clouver as a future-proof investment with real growth potential.

Cuttec GmbH

Cuttec GmbH is an independent, owner-managed company based in Germany. For over 10 years, the company has been developing and manufacturing CNC cutters, spreading machines and special-purpose machines for processing flexible materials such as textiles and technical fibres.

How did the collaboration begin?

The collaboration began in a classic way – with a cold call. A technical introduction soon turned into a promising development project.

What were the specific requirements?

Initially, Cuttec GmbH wanted to continue using its existing stepper motors and therefore required support in selecting suitable Beckhoff fieldbus terminal modules to implement a compatible stepper motor interface using our CNC300. However, there was uncertainty from the start as to whether the stepper motors could be reliably controlled in combination with our control system and the proposed Beckhoff modules.

As the project progressed, the focus shifted to developing a robust and future-proof solution – which ultimately led to the decision to switch to a solution with servo motors and EtherCAT.

What is the current status of the implementation?

The commissioning of both HLC and ELC was successfully completed. The first machines with the new control system have already been sold. The collaboration went smoothly – with an optimal combination of Cuttec’s hardware expertise and our control and software know-how.

What are the plans for future collaboration?

Cuttec GmbH aims to intensify its cooperation with us by combining its hardware expertise with our control system know-how. Talks on a long-term technology partnership are already at an advanced stage and will gradually lead to the joint development of further machines. The goal is to launch the next high-end “Made in Germany” cutter together.
